GETTING STARTED
Visiting Manufacturedhomes.com is an important step in the discovery of your dream home. This is the largest online resource for locating floor plans, retailers, lenders, and communities.
FIND A FLOOR PLAN:
When looking for a new home, most people already know what they want when it comes to square footage and layout. Depending on family size and a person or families need for space and storage, floor plans are a very important aspect of the home buying process. Manufactured home retailers offer hundreds of floor plans from many different manufacturers that are guaranteed to meet the needs of all potential homeowners. If it is something specific and unique that you’re looking for, keep in mind that floor plans can be modified to meet your exact expectations.
GET YOUR FLOOR PLAN:
When in the market for buying a manufactured home, it is important that you contact retailers regarding price, floor plan, and availability. Keep in mind that homes built by different manufacturers will have standard features and equipment that may be optional in other homes, thus affecting the price. Also, be aware that price comparisons should be made on homes comparably built and similarly equipped.
SHOPPING FOR THE PERFECT HOME:
Being as prepared as possible with all the relevant information and awareness of your needs and requirements will ensure an enjoyable experience when you visit your manufactured home sales center. A prepared shopper who knows exactly what he/she wants is usually able to negotiate a better price than someone who allows a salesperson to decide what a customer should buy.
Keep in mind that the floor plan you have selected may not be on display at the dealership. If this is the case, make sure that you look at display homes of the same make and model level to determine what features and equipment will also be available with your floor plan model on a factory order basis.
ORDERING YOUR HOME TO BE BUILT
The specification process (“speck out”) is an enjoyable undertaking and a very important element in the purchasing procedure. This is when your desired requests are detailed within a manufacturer’s purchase order. This order form will list all items that are standard equipment in the interior and exterior of the home you are purchasing. Additionally, all upgrades and optional items that you have agreed to must be reflected on this order form.
At the conclusion of this process the dealer will forward the order to the manufacturer for evaluation. After the manufacturer has checked the order, the manufacturer will forward the confirmation order back to the dealer to sign before beginning the building process. It is important for you to also sign the confirmation copy before the home goes on line for production.
TAKING A FACTORY TOUR
Most manufactured home builders encourage new purchasers to tour the factory location to observe how their homes are built. Those that offer these tours usually require that a dealer representative accompany you throughout the tour. In some instances, the ordering process explained above may be accomplished at the factory location.
DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION OF YOUR DREAM HOME
Depending on how busy the manufacturing company is, the average delivery time of a new manufactured home is anywhere from 6 to 10 weeks. Once the home arrives to the prepared site, an additional 7-10 days are required for installation (set up) and inspection. WELCOME HOME!!
