HUD Code Manufactured Home Production Declines in November 2022
In early January, the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) provided the following November shipment numbers to their members, reflecting a decline for the second consecutive month.
7,998 New HUD Code Homes Shipped in November 2022
Last week, MHI released its Monthly Economic Report for November. In November 2022, 7,998 new manufactured homes were shipped, a decrease of 687 homes or 7.9 percent compared to October 2022, and a decrease of 1,062 homes or 11.7 percent compared to November 2021. Compared with the month last year, shipments of both single-sectioon and multi-section homes were down, by 6.0 percent and 16.3 percent, respectively. The seasonally adjusted rate of 98,907 in October 2022. The SAAR corrects for normal seasonal variations and projects annual shipments based on the current monthly total.
Top 10 Manufactured Home Shipment States
A further analysis by the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform of the industry statistics shows that the top 10 shipment states from the beginning of the industry production rebound in August 2011 through November 2022 – with cumulative, monthly, current year (2022) and prior year (2021) shipments per category as indicated – are:
