Manufactured Home Shipments Continue to Increase – HUD Will Provide $235 Million Grants for Manufactured Housing – HUD Showcase at National Mall

New Manufactured Home Shipments and Production Increase Again in March

 

Source: Manufactured Home Institute (MHI) –  In March 2024. 8,464 new manufactured homes were shipped, an increase of 117 homes or 1.4% compared to February 2024, and an increase of 799 homes or 10,4% compared to March 2023. Compared with the same month last year, shipments of single section and multi-section homes were up by 11.7% and 9.4%, respectively. Total floors shipped in March 2024 were 13,166, an increase of 1,187 floors or 9.9% compared with the same month last year.

Fairfax County, Virginia Seeking Feedback On Funding Application For Funds For Manufactured Home Communities

Fairfax County’s Department of Housing and Community Development is seeking feedback on a draft application for a brand-new competitive grant program for the preservation and revitalization of manufactured housing units and manufactured housing communities (MHCs) – commonly known as mobile home parks.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Preservation and Reinvestment Initiative for Community Enhancement (PRICE) competition will provide a total of $235 million in grants to local and state governments and other entities to help manufactured housing units and communities – which HUD describes as “a critical piece of the nation’s affordable housing stock” – address affordability, resilience, infrastructure and maintenance challenges (source: Mount Vernon on the move).

 

HUD Announces Co-Presenters for the 2024 Innovative Housing Showcase- National Mall June 7-9

Source: HUD – Today (May 10, 2024) the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced the International Code Council (ICC), the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), and the Structural Building Components Association (SBCA) as the co presenters for the 2024 Innovative Showcase.
