World’s Wealthiest Billionaire Elon Musk’s $45,000 Prefab Home is Literally A Small Box

Prefabs are kinda cool though!” – Elon Musk.

Elon Musk quite literally lives in a box. The 20 feet x 20 feet foldable prefab home is custom-made by Boxable, a startup that specializes in making modular instant houses. Elon’s ‘Boxable Casita’ is set up like a studio. The prefab modular house has one large room partitioned into a living room, 3 bedrooms, a fully equipped pantry, and a bathroom with a tub/shower. Earlier, the company in 2021 had announced on YouTube that they were building a cool Casita house for a high-profile customer. Turns out it was Musk.

The world’s richest billionaire is one quirky character, atypical of other wealthy tycoons out there. Elon Musk doesn’t share the same ambitions as the Bezos, the Adanis, and the Ambanis. He doesn’t give a squat about owning a billion-dollar mansion or even a yacht. Earlier in 2020, the Tesla boss announced on the public town square of the Internet that he is selling off all of his material possessions. He wrote, “will own no house!”

However, the billionaire had several real estate properties before going all minimalist. Including 6 homes in Bel-Air, he owned 7 houses (at least). In 2012 he bought a lavish mansion for $17 million, which he sold for $29 million in June 2020. After selling most of his properties, Musk moved into a prefab home he mentioned in a tweet in 2021 is a $50k house in Boca Chica.

The house that made buzz earlier when the SpaceX chief’s mum Maye Musk revealed how she slept in the garage while visiting Elon. She said that there’s not much you need, though, for a modest living and a comfy sleep. The garage was modified into a bedroom as earlier, the Casita had only two bedrooms. Elon finds his Casita kinda awesome, while his buddies find it unbelievable that someone like him lives in a “tiny home!”

Although Elon Musk doesn’t own a mansion, he has quite a bit of real estate investments. Besides a private jet, he owns an event house in the Bay area, which he plans to sell someday soon.

“My primary home is literally a $50k modular house in Boca Chica/Starbase that I rent from SpaceX. “It’s kinda awesome, though,” said Musk.
